The Food Centre has worked extensively on applications of DC (directly compressible) Sugar.
DC Sugar simplifies production of products such as vitamin tablets, gastro-intestinal remedies and confectionery.
With DC Sugar, there is no need for wet granulation – a multi-stage process requiring a large investment in capital
equipment. Instead, products formulated using DC Sugar (95% icing sugar, 5% maltodextrin), require
minimum heat
or moisture, both factors that can adversely affect sensitive ingredients.
